Charles Nuitter, (vrai nom Charles-Louis-Étienne Truinet) etait un avocat, dramaturge et librettiste français.

né le 24 avril 1828 et mort le 24 février 1899.

Avocat à la Cour d'appel de Paris, il se passionne pour le théâtre, l'opéra et la danse et découvre, vers 1860, les archives de l'Opéra de Paris, alors non classées. Il décide dès lors d?y consacrer tout son temps.

Il collabore à de nombreux livrets d'opéras, opéras-comiques, pièces de théâtre et ballets.
